When doing this project, I was very surprise that specular map and normal map is very very importance for game low poly model.
Why I say is importance, see it yourself. ^^
This is 3D model just apply a diffuse map, all light and shadow appear base on the low poly model shape.
After apply specular map, the highlight can differentiate which part shown and which part hide.
Apply a normal map will make a major difference, it can cause the plane texture have shadow.
